Perspective

How you look at life alters what you take from it (your perspective alters your perception). How you see yourself and the things that happen around you really shapes the person you are, how you behave and what you believe.
Read this poem from top to bottom and then read again from bottom to top. Maybe do this with your kids and use this as a great conversation starter about how our thoughts impact our attitudes.

Today was the worst day ever

And don’t try to convince me that

There’s some good in every day

Because, when you take a closer look,

This world is a pretty evil place.

Even if

Some goodness does shine through once in a while

Satisfaction and happiness don’t last.

And it’s not true that

It’s all in the mind and heart

Because

True happiness can be obtained

Only if one’s surroundings are good

It’s not true that good exists

I’m sure you can agree that

The reality

Creates

My attitude

It’s all beyond my control

And you’ll never in a million years hear me say that

Today was a good day

We really need to see ourselves the way God sees us and to hold on to that reality. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and God loves YOU (John 3:16), don’t ever forget that!
